Short stories, poetry, film script, essays, drawings, and photographs by "members of Waterfront Writers, a group of authors and artists who are also full-time dockworkers on the San Francisco waterfront. The collective grew out of reading sessions organized by longshoremen/poets Robert Carson and George Benet and operates on the principle that work can inspire and enrich the artist's vision even as the Manufacturer: Harper & Row.
